Description

My new Athearn RTR UP "Veranda" Gas Turbine #71. I just happen to go out side to check the mail earlier today to discover the shipping box that this beast was in sitting on the front steps. I haven't ran this thing yet but I already know that it needs some add ons like a sound decoder and the mars light kit to replace the factory mars light. I really like where the decoder sits in this thing, right under the exhaust stack and you can actually see down the stack.

MY friend and I got one about 2 yrs ago and it doesn't pull grades very well. the MTH version has the same problem. I ended up putting the Athern and the MTH in a consist and took off the tender.
