the title says it all.
Thats me standing beside NC Ports Authority #L-3, a GE 45 ton center cab switcher built in 1943 and was used by the Ports Authority in Wilmington its entire career. If you're not familiar with this locomotive, the siderods are used because this locomotive has one traction motor per truck leaving one axle power while the other one is powered off the other axle through the siderods, or by chains on other GE switchers like this one.

*EDIT* Changed the image that I had before with a newer one of me taken at Spencer Shops earlier in the year.

part of the problem is the one who is useing the camera and the other problem is the lighting around this stall in the roundhouse.

as in I control the camera :)

Thanks to my Nikon remote, which has an amazing range for an IR-remote.
So, correct set up, sorrect flash, the works.
but it does take some setting up.

talking of which, I'll be updating my ID soon.

cool.I prefer the canon EOS rebel G. But like I said the light coming in from the open doors in the roundhouse bays were letting in probly enough light to effect the the picture.

The flah (if used correctly) wold just fill in the shadows.
You could still have a natural look to the image.

A good flash can make a lot of difference.
